Hello, everyone today, I’m doing a review of the Rustico Courier Journal.
So this is a leather journal. It is made from top green leather. As you can see, it’s a wrapped eye journal.
The dimentions are on the outside six point: two: five by seven inches or fifteen point eight by 17.8 centimeters and then the actual paper on the inside will show in a minute is five point: two five by Six point: seven five inches or 13 by 17 centimeters, so it is smaller than an A5, and this is the color saddle.
The actual wrap is a slightly different color, a darker Brown give it a nice look contrast and, as I said, it’s made from table grain leather. So the leather is pretty smooth and you don’t have too much texture on your mother. It’Ssjust feels really nice and soft and supple, and it smells amazing.
So it is a hand, sewn journal, and here you can see the five signatures it has. I believe, a hundred and sixty pages – and here you can see the stitching.
Let’s open this up, it’s a double wrap with the wrapped eye. As you can see here, it is pretty long. It’S like almost too long for my taste, I’m not a huge fan of wrap tight journals because I always feel like I would travel like getting in and out of them, and I don’t know what to do with these, like straps, like once, I’m riding on it. Like or to put it like on the table and guess, and if you want to go, you kind of like wrapped around your leg or something I don’t know. But if you like, that type of closure, you’re really gon na, like this journal.
Here, as I said the stitching, looks like it’s really nicely done. As I said, this is a handmade leather journal. It’S made in the US and, as I said, the color saddle.
What else is really cool about. It is that it has a pen loop, which works really well, and I got to bring a pen to the camera so, but it fits a pen really nicely. So you don’t have to like worry about losing it or it sliding out, because you have to spend them right here.
So here’s the inside it’s a great cover page and then the actual paper I’d say it’s some ivory colored slightly off -white.
And it has these um cut. What do they called rough cut pages almost like deco pages? I guess it’s also what it’s called, so it gives it this nice rustic look.
Let’s open this up, so here you have the actual paper and then it does lie pretty flat, since it has these individual signatures of paper.
The paper has quite a bit of texture To it, it’s like like what he would use for him as an artist journal like for drawing and doing some watercolor and mixed media art and stuff. So it is not through this writing experience.
The quick start here with the pencil ballpoint pen was your point: four millimeter gel pen, 0.7 millimeter gel pen, and then we have here two royal ball pen right Richard fifty one and then here we have the pilot metropolitan medium, medium nib, with Diomine Marine ink.
And let’s look at the back, you have some ghosting here, but absolutely no! So I guess it is found kind of friendly paper. It’s just. You will get a lot of feedback from the paper when you’re writing in it, and it’s not just gonna flow smoothly, and it does feather just like out here, but it’s that’s not too bad.
Alright and a paperweight is around 70 pounds or 105 GSM. I think that’s pretty much it with this journal.
The leather quality is really really nice. It also said like right stiffness to it. It’S not too soft, not too hard. You won’t cut your hands on the edges here, since it’s pretty smooth.
So I’m gonna enjoy using this. I might take off the wrap tie. If you don’t like this either, just like I do do you have them different journals with buckle closures. If that’s more to your liking, but I really enjoy the pen loop that they have incorporated into this notebook.
