Hello, everyone, so here are the results of my Moleskine versus, Leuchtturm 1917 durability test.
I have used both of these notebooks for an equal amount of time for about six months each, even though the mole skin has 192 pages and the voice time only 121. I use them for about the same amount of time. So before I go into the details of it, let’s check them out and see what they look like from the outside after six months of use.
So this is the Moleskine. it’s a cover, bookmark, oh sorry, the elastic strap. This is what the back looks like and then this is what the pages look like after about six months of use. So that’s the Moleskine.
Now, let’s take a look at the Leuchtturm, it’s the back here. The clue came. Undone a little bit within the cover, but still looks pretty good. Both of them look still pretty good on the outside. I used archival sticker on the Leuchtturm while actually still you know using it, so I would not recommend it. It really is an archival sticker. The glue is not very strong and it came off quite a quite a bunch of times, and I have to kind of like press it back down. So I personally would recommend it to put those stickers on after you’re done using your notebook.
So let’s compare them side-by-side. First of all, the elastic strap held up really we ll on both of them. Even though the the moleskin has a thinner elastic, strap, it’s still pretty tight and holds it together nicely same with the Leuchttur, The elastic strap is still still really tight.
Then the bookmark of the Leuchtturm actually frayed, which surprised me because I thought it’s a good quality notebook but yeah that didn’t hold up so well doesn’t bother me that afraid. But you know just a little side note. The moleskin held up really nicely. The bookmark still looks perfect.
The pocket on the back. I didn’t really use the pocket of the Moleskine so that one looks still really nice because I didn’t use it much anyways and then the pocket of the Leuchtturm actually came undone a little bit. So it’s a little disappointing still. I could have just glued it back down a big deal, but since I was doing a durability test, I did want it tamper with the end result. So that’s why I didn’t glued back down, so you could all see it. I used his pocket more though so just to let you know.
The actual binding itself. Here’s the binding off the Leuchtturm was still really tight. Like nothing came. Undone in that notebook, it’s still perfect, nothing fell out, not a single page fell out, see it’s still perfectly intact, so I’m very happy with the quality of this notebook overall, as far as the binding is concerned.
The Moleskine fell apart on me right here. So that was a little bit disappointing. There was a ready, little gap right there when I bought it. So I’m not surprised that it came out and gone all the way, but the actual paper held up here the stitching held up so nothing fell out in terms of the paper, the actual paper nothing came on down there. It’S just that right here between that cover page and the first page just fell apart.
So I think that’s that’s the main results and I did enjoy using both of them. I did enjoy de Leuchtturm a little better just because of the paper quality, but I loved carrying this around in my hand and just the way it feels but writing on the paper, not so much . I think I did a little writing sample and this one and I like using fountain pens more and more and them it totally bleeds with fountain pens. It doesn’t work well and there’s also some some feathering for the fountain pen, you can see that so it doesn’t it’s to absorb in the paper. It doesn’t really work that well, the fountain pen and the pen doesn’t glide smoothly over the page where as In the in the Leuchtturm, I don’t think I have a sample in there, but the Leuchtturm, fountain pens work really well.
I think I liked using the Leuchtturm a little better. I still wish there was the perfect notebook out there for me, which would be the paper of the Leuchtturm and then the cover of the most can and also I enjoy the dimensions of the Moleskine slightly better. I don’t know there is just that. You know it’s a 1 centimeter difference in terms of height, but still there’s something about it that, in terms of dimensions, it’s just a little nicer, more compact than this one.
So those are my two cents and I just wanted to show you if you’re interested to know what those look like before I started using them. I have an entry on my blog so go check that out. If you enjoyed the entry, please get a thumbs up. If you have any comments, any personal experience with using most gaynor voice terms or both of them, and you want to tell me about it – please leave me comment. I’m really curious to hear about your experience. Thank you so much for reading thanks.
