Hello everyone, today I’m doing a review of a beautiful leather book by the company Epica, but before I get started, I just want to say that I have never seen another company takes so much pride and care in the presentation of their product. I was absolutely blown away when I got this gift box in the mail, but before I show you what’s in there, let me just show you what else came with it.
So, first of all, you get a little congratulations card that tells you the story of the product that you just purchased and then a separate thank-you card that is comes with a little gift, it’s a bookmark and this bookmark is handmade in Italy with a multi paper, and these are real flowers on this bookmark and then there’s the actual artist that made the assignment. So this is quite the bookmark here and this company’s also famous for their a multi paper. Just to let you know.
I also got a $ 50 off – get certificate off my next purchase, which is pretty cool too, so this all came with it and also a leather cleaner and conditioner and complimentary sample, which i think is pretty cool. So you can take care of you, notebook and make sure the letters stay simple.
So without further ado, let me show you this beautiful gift box that it came in. So this is what it looks like when it comes in to me and open it up.
Let’s see here, look at that. This is amazing. This is super soft velvet pouch looks kind of royal with some thread, pinkish red super soft and then inside, it’s also lined with this super soft fabric – oh my god, it’s so soft. So this is how it comes when you get it in the mail. I was blown away when I open this up.
So let’s put this box aside for a second and then let’s open it up and get out the actual notebook. So this is the classic brown leather notebook, look at that, it’s absolutely beautiful feel super nice. It smells like leather, it is real leather. This is up made in Italy. Also, the paper is Italian paper.
Here you can see the spine. This is from nuts right here and it definitely has the antique look, maybe even look to it, and here is embossing Epica , the company, I’m sure you can see this beautiful leather texture on it and then there’s some shading in the cover.
It’s about what an inch thick, I think little bit more actually notebook, and this is a refillable notebook. So after the initial purchase you can get these inserts, but actually quite affordable . I think there’s no focus absolute gorgeous and then the inside is about a inserted about a quarter inch thick. Let’s open it up,
The dimensions on the outside cover are about roughly 6 by 9 inches or 15 by 23 centimeters and then the actual insert is 5.75 by 8.2 five inches or 14.6 by 21 centimeters. So that’s the insert that you can buy. After you fill it up, if you want to reuse cover, you can do so.
Let me open it up, looks like this beautiful green cover page, and it says sigmund right here you can see. This looks like almost like a wax stamp on it, and Signum is the company that makes these notebooks and they’re located in Florence. I have actually been a few years ago to their store. If you ever go to Florence, please go to their store, it’s probably the most amazing beautiful notebook stationery shop that I’ve ever been to an entire world, so it is acctually amazing all the products they have you going to go crazy in there if you love notebooks.
So this is the cover page dark screen cover, and then here you insert and the actual notebook and the slap right here and also in the back you can see. This is very insert so no photo this pretty th ick sturdy fabric here, so this will hold up for a long time.
Then the cover page. You have a 150 sheets or 300 line pages and is also available online and it is 7 millimeter ruling. It is Lighter dark grey. Now, if you can see this here – and there is a margin around the edges – look paper as you can see, and it does lie flat after you break into it, so you can bend it over quite a bit in the middle lie flat, so that’s the bonus and it has pointy edges as you can see most in a book, and it is 22 pound paper. So that’s the weight of the paper. It’s clean colored.
There is the it bookmark that it comes with part of the action notebook. Some nice dark green matches everything else and see.
Alright, here’s my writing sample. There is a pencil ballpoint pen, 0.4 milliliter, jelton, 0.7 millimeter gel pen, and then here we have the fountain pen, Pilot Metropolitan medium with Diamine Marine Ink. All right here you can see, there’s absolutely no feathering it’s really nicely paper quality.
When you flip it over, there is some ghosting on paper. I found of the counter picks things up, but there’s absolutely no bleed through start absolutely true with the fountain pens. So it is very found pen friendly paper, so it is great for fountain pen excellent paper quality. Also, it is Italian paper
The whole journals is stitched and bound right there and you can get also customs embossing on this notebook. If you want to you just let them know before you order.
I’m going to pick up the insert real quick, so I c an show you that, so this is what the insert looks like pull it all the way up stereo. So once you fill this up, if you want to reuse this over and over again, you just buy a bunch of these inserts. I mean you know. It means like put a little tag here, and you know they put it on your shelf style, which makes it quite affordable after the initial purchase.
This come with a price tag, but I think they are worth it, especially if you like, antique looking a lot of journals, and they also, I think, make a fantastic gift, because that presentation absolutely blew my mind. What else, the paper is archival quality at the tree, and I think I totally a seven millimeter ruling so absolutely incredible: notebook.
