Everyone today I’m going to bring every view of this Moleskine Sketch Album, it’s actually going to be more of a first look, because I will not do any paper testing, since this is a gift for somebody. So that’s why I don’t want to write in it.
I really like this format. It is by 7.5 inches, so it’s perfectly square or actually 19 by 19 centimeters, and it has 88 pages made with 120 gram paper. So it is really good paper quality and a little bit thicker. So it’s perfect for and pencils, pastels, charcoal, fountain pens and markers. It does not say anything about watercolors, i believe it might be a little bit too thin it for watercolors.
Let’s take a look inside of take this off, so the cover is a simple cardboard. Just you know, thicker paper cover
The actual journal already starts with those pages here, and the paper is really smooth. Every single page here is perforated, which some artists might really appreciate if the camera picks this up. If you don’t, like you know what your drawing or painting you just you know, tear up the page without actually trashing your whole journal. I think some people might really appreciate
the paper quality is really really nice. I have been railing on moleskin paper quality in other entries , but I have to say I really like this paper. I wish they would use this in all of their journals, or maybe a slightly lighter, thinner version of this, because it feels really nice. It is very smooth, especially for sketch paper, does not have a lot of tooth to it. Just a little bit.
I have a regular sketchbook here and I will try to compare those two. Have you no idea if the camera will pick this up but I’ll try? I don’t know if you can see that this one is quite grainy and then the mole skin has a lot more smooth bumping in the camera here. So I really hope it does pick it up to show how smooth that is horses, this one, which is more like a classic sketch paper, difficult, grainy, feel and look to it.
I must say I am impressed by this sketch album. It is a little bit on more expensive side, it retails for around 20 dollars, which i think is a little bit much for just you know, stock paper as a cover, but it does have really nice paper on the inside. So I guess that would make up for it. It is simply stitched here and then stitched up in the middle, so it looks like it might actually hold up.
There is a little pocket in the back with the Moleskie history and the quality control sticker. Just like any other Moleskine notebook so yeah, that was my quick look at this Moleskine Sketch Album.
